Many people enjoy scrapbooking because it allows them to use all of their creativity for people they care about and as a way to add a special loving touch to pictures of special moments in their lives.
The most popular way to begin is to obtain a variety of scrapbooking paper in every colour and pattern imaginable. There are many companies that provide special "scrapbooking paper sets" that provide a stack of paper with different colours and patterns, or even matching sets where all the colours are complimentary for particular projects.
Personally, I love to shop around and find individual items that I put together myself. This allows you to fully use your creativity and personal sense of style. Mix and match patterns, textures and see what works for your project. My favourite scrapbooking paper, or art paper in general, is chiyogami and Japanese washi.
Chiyogami and washi are old traditional Japanese papers that are widely used around the world today. There are still a few places in Japan that make chiyogami and washi in the old traditional manner, which is by hand, using purified water, natural plants and fibres. As for chiyogami, it's then finished off with a wide range of silkscreened colours and patterns.
Light as a feather but durable to last decades, they are both among the best for use in arts and crafts.
Regular scrapbooking paper can be very simple and plain when it comes to texture and originality of style, whereas washi is available in a huge range of textures and light colours, according to the plants and fibres used during the creation process. Some may even have a fine lovely light scent from the flowers. Traditional washi is also acid free, and makes it among the best choices for protection and use with precious photographs.
The other good choice for originality and style is chiyogami. The range of patterns and colours available is unbelievable. It ranges from the very traditional kimono style prints to the modern patterns that are directly from the creator's imagination. If it can be silkscreened, you'll surely be able to find it.
I've seen thousands of scrapbook examples, and while some are very impressive in creativity and imagination, others clearly look like they have been put together from a pre-made set, since I've seen the exact look several times over from different people. If you would like to have an original creation made from the heart, try using different elements from different places, or even recycled items from around the home. This ensures you have a one-of-a-kind creation especially for those you love.

Iam looking for rubber or plastic stampers with faces to use on my die cuts for fun , help please.?
I do know they exist some-one bought a set in America and another in england and they use then to put faces on the Sizzix doll die and flowers ect, Iam invalide and cant draw so rubber stamps would be ideal. Is there anyone out there who can help me.
