What To Do With That Cricut
Scrapbooking is a popular pastime for teachers, housewives, grandmothers, and entrepreneuring men and women. Scrapbooking involves making a compilation of your mementos, souvenirs, photos, movie tickets or bus tickets, and other stuff which can be arranged in a book type manner. But one can add much more to this compilation by adding artistic bits and pieces, like paper cut outs or colored cut outs of different shapes, forms and sizes. It is an activity that is akin to going back to kindergarten and being so involved with creating the best Christmas card, but cutting out little pieces of paper and sticking them on the cardboard. For some people, scrapbooking is both a relaxing and creative hobby.
This is why the Eric Harris and his sister Heather Reed recently established the Harris ABC Crop stop, located at Suite C, of 220 Main Street, located near the community of Windsor. The new business is a place in which people involved in arts and craft-making can practically hang out to do their art work, scrapbooking and other do-it-yourself activities. According to Harris, they can allow their customers to stay as long as they want, and to avail of the supplies and tools which can be bought in the shop. When they finished with their projects, they can leave it overnight in the store. The idea is one stop shop for arts and crafts enthusiasts, which much leeway for accommodating their working styles and habits.
Heather Reed is also planning to conduct crop classes and scrapbooking activities for both kids and adults. Some proposed projects are card crop and activities during Thanksgiving and the Christmas holidays. They shall introduce digital scrapbooking—an online-based mode of creating scrapbooks through the Internet and Photoshop. For Reed, opening their crop business was both a dream come true and second lease on life. She became handicapped six years ago, and crafting became a new form of outlet for her to relax and handle with her stressful situation.
One important tool which is available at the ABC Crop stop is the Cricut machine. Carpenters have their hammers, writers have their pens, while arts and crafts makers have their Cricut machine. The Cricut machine is tool that serves as a cutting aide, especially for cutting out intricate and shapely designs out of different materials, like paper, cardboard, vinyl and the like. Some garage sales or bizarre shops can have a Cricut sale and buying a Cricut for home can be quite useful to be able to cut out more exciting scrapbooking pieces.

Cricut, Wishblade, Silouhette?
I am trying to decide which of the die-cut machines is the best value. I like the Cricut, but I don't like how you have to buy cartridges for everything you want to create. I have read reviews and stuff about the other 2 machines I listed, but wondered if anyone here has ever used them. If you have, let me know what you think of them.
One review I read about the Wishblade said that if you can print it on your color printer, you can cut it with the Wishblade. Does this mean that if I print a photo of my child, I can cut it out?
I hope someone out there can help me out 
There is a big comparison chart of all the die cutting machines (16 of them, retail prices $149 and up) at Paperthreads. I did try the Wishblade when it first came out and ended up returning it to HSN and writing a long list of suggestions to Xyron. I believe the later version did have some improvements. I will mention that for some reason the Wishblade is not listed on the chart; however there is a lot of good information there.
