Would edible ink stick to fondant icing???
I am making this cake

And am going to buy a rubber stamp for the cats paws and then pour some black ink onto a sponge to create a pad. I f then press the stamp onto the pad and then "stamp" the icing will the ink dry on the fondant icing or just smudge??

Use food colouring which you mix WITH the icing - you don't POUR ANYTHING over a sponge unless you want it to become a soggy mess, and after all this time and trouble we've ALL had, we don't want to spoil it now !
If you really DO want coloured sponge, then simply add the necessary food colouring to the sponge mixture BEFORE it's cooked.
Phew - I feel as if I'M making this damned cake - not you ! ! !
DON'T FORGET - if you use food colouring IT'S VERY STRONG and you use it BY THE DROP - not the spoonful ! ! !
